Making South African Townships Safer for Women and Children.

Kululeko (TAPP) is a registered Non-Profit Company & Public Benefit Organization that combines intelligent technology, trusted partnerships and proactive community safety initiatives to help protect those most at risk.

Why TAPP Exists

Every woman deserves to feel safe walking home. Every child deserves to grow up without fear. TAPP exists because technology, when combined with strong community partnerships, can help make that future possible.

The reality

The Challenge

  1. Women feel unsafe walking home.

  2. Communities need faster response.

  3. Evidence matters.

  4. Technology can support both.

The system

How TAPP Works

  1. Drone

Sees the whole area at once, not one street at a time.

  2. Wearable

One press says who needs help, and exactly where.

  3. Operations Centre

Turns what is seen into something acted on.

  4. Community

The township decides how any of it is used.

Accountability

Why Trust TAPP

  • Responsible Technology

Footage covers public space, is held encrypted, and reaches only authorised officials.

  • Regulatory Compliance

A registered non-profit working under POPIA, Civil Aviation Authority approval and PSIRA-registered contractors.

  • Community Partnerships

Nothing is done to a township. It is done with it.

  • Transparency

We say what we are doing, and we say what we are not.

Founding project

It starts in Kayamandi.

One township, one partnership, built with the people who live there.
