- Drone operations are approved by the Civil Aviation Authority, and both the aircraft and the pilots are licensed.

- TAPP NPC is a registered non-profit and an approved Public Benefit Organisation.

Responsible innovation
Technology informs. People decide.
Our systems exist to give people better information, sooner. They do not decide anything on their own. A person reviews what is seen, a person decides what happens next, and a person carries the responsibility for it. Technology helps people make better-informed decisions. Humans remain responsible.
What we are not claiming
Technology is only one part of creating safer townships. Lasting impact depends on trusted partnerships, responsible governance and community participation.
TAPP is early. There is no impact report yet, and inventing one would undo the point of this page.

Questions about our approach.
No. TAPP has no policing powers and does not act as though it does. Its systems observe and gather evidence; response is carried out by PSIRA-registered armed response personnel and the South African Police Service.
TAPP is accountable for the footage its systems record. It is held in an encrypted database and shared only with authorised officials — SAPS and prosecutors — and with nobody else.
Because a safety system whose method is public can be timed, avoided or defeated. Locations, infrastructure and procedures stay private. Secrecy is not the goal — a safety system that still works next month is.
